Get ya. Thanks for clarifying, that should make for an interesting finals so. It just sounded like the 1600 class would be up against 2ltr class which would be miss matched.

Were not that unfair lol, one of the main emphasis here will be on the drivers not the vehicles, with the groups tightly matched a number 8 qualifier could potentialy walk it into the final with some great driving.

Can we get an idea of who will be attending the show n shine?, as last year, £5 a car inc driver passangers £5 kids go free, I need to get an idea as i have just this morning booked a team of paramedics with ambulance etc for the event which has cost me dear, i hope we will never need it but YOUR safety is my concern :)
As last year, i will re iterate, this is a NON PROFIT event, we JUST cover costs and keep it affordable so you can hit the track. The ambulance and medics will be a cost i will swallow myself if needs be, but the show n shine entries will certainly help.

Hey Dave I might have a space open soon, the car won't be ready in time. I am still sending over the Drag engine and race trans IRS but have nowhere to put it at this time.
Shucks.

The list looks awesome, what an unbelievable year with racecar and engine builds, its been slowly bubbling under the surface without the frenetic 5 weeks we had last year. Im properly chuffed at this, its safe to say im in it for the long haul, i would love to see us talking about the build up to drag day 10 in the future !!

Just another heads up to anyone who wants to enter the show n shine, we have no bookings yet!!!!

At £5 per car inc driver its a bargain, and money we could greatly do with, the £10 fee on the gate does NOT go into our pocket plain and simple, 50 vehicles pre booked into the show n shine will pay for the ambulance and paramedics that are an essential part of the event and a cost i will have to swallow, so if you want to come along please help us and support the event by PRE BOOKING, this event makes no money period it is completely non profit, so any extras we would like to add to the event (like an ambulance) will come directly out of our pocket.

What's the deal on camping on the Saturday night?

Will we be allowed to camp on the strip grounds.

We hope to camp on the Saturday night as well if possible.

I'll probably be killed for suggesting this, but how about having a fiver/tenner charge/contribution for camping the Saturday, or something like that? I know we wouldn't mind paying it. I think we all want to see this continue and be attending Drag Day #10 in years to come, so if something small like that helps towards making it sustainable and covering the essential costs I'd be all for it...

Ben and Dave both put a massive amount of work into making this happen and certainly should not have to be making up any shortfall on the costs in my opinion

Hardly necessary unless we're hooking up to mains..... it's only parking on a bit of tar for a few hours.

It wasn't the cost of camping I was referring to mikey, but the overall costs of the event.. All the little things that have to be paid for to make it happen. I know there's a small charge for the show n shine for that very reason.. That's what gave me the idea. Sure the show n shine entries are just parked on tar for a few hours too.... :p

anyway, was just an idea..
