I'm looking for a mate who knows bugger all about cars.
Looking for:
- 5 doors.
- Diesel.
- Decent & recent NCT
Budget is around €6,000
Anyone know of something?
.
As the title says. I'm looking for a pair of these in good condition. We have some new bumpers sorted for the car but they're not europa's so we're converting to the ones on the wings.
Willing to pay for originals rather than buy repro's with shite chrome.
A friend of mine is selling his '79 BMW 316. He brought it in from the UK a year ago and has found that he's not using it that much... probably because he has two other cars and two motorbikes!
It's in amazing condition as you'll see from the pics below. It's one of the coolest, retro colour...
With my neighbours bug now sporting a nice new set of wheels she has the old "bog standard" wheels out in the back garden. The tyres are fooked but the wheels would do for someone who was working on a chassis....
The wheels are in Dublin and are going free..... anyone interested?
Looks like the alternator on my neighbours Bug has given up the ghost. I'm looking for a working replacement.
It looks like the engine in this Bug was changed for an early 60's one at some stage. Here's a pick of what's there at the moment, you can see how the regulator has been installed in...
I'm doing a bit of work on my neighbour's Bug and she needs new chrome all round. What's the story on getting her hubcaps and bumpers re-chromed? Does anyone do this in Ireland and if so has anyone used them... quality? price? etc.
If I'm going to have a realistic chance of selling the Bug then I need to have it running. Does any have or know of anyone who has an engine to throw into it. The existing engine is great apart from one of the cylinders i.e the carb, dissy, exhaust system have all been overhauled so I could...
I sat down with my wife yesterday and decided we need to sell some stuff. I need to get this house finished and clear it out too.
Many of you already know my Bug, but for those that don't here's the details.
1973 1300 Irish built.
New disk brakes up front
Recently replaced front beam with new...
I was in Ashgrove Interparts this morning and got chatting to the owner. He has a brand new rear right wing (elephant foot style light) that he ordered for a customer about ten years ago.
He's willing to let it go for €25.
I can pick it up if anyone's interested.

Guys, I'm looking for a smaller steering for my bug, something like a Grant 3 spoke 12.5". Before I blow some cash on a new one, does anyone have something lying around?
This bus belongs to a friend of mine. It's living in Castletownbear in West Cork and she was wondering if I knew anyone who would be interested in buying it. She knows it's not worth much but needs to get it shifted as soon as possible. Here's what she says about it.
Its a 1982 Volkswagon...
Rocky brought me up a front beam he had for me to have a look at but it had had a knock too... not as bad as mine and might still work but I'm keen to put on something straight if I can.
Would anyone have one floating around that I could pick up for cheap. The spindles, disks etc are fine on...
Does anyone have a single spacer for sale?
It's a 10mm spacer and diameter of the central hole is 80mm and the outer diameter is just over 150mm.
I don't need a 10mm, 6mm would do or anywhere in between. I'd take two of them if they were thinner and replace the other side too.
If no one has...
There was talk of a meet/drive around Wicklow. Have we come up with a date? Might be a good to do it when the Limerick meet is on so we have both sides of the country active. Any thoughts?
After my brief encounter with a large kerb in the ice last week I'm looking for a few parts to get things back on track again. It's not badly bent, it still drives fine but the wheel is pushed in at the bottom.
All parts are for a '74 1300 Beetle.
Upper LHS torsion arm (ideally with decent...
My Devon skylight blew off and got smashed to pieces, would anyone have one lying around?
I have one ordered from Jon White but it's without handles, so if you had the handles only then that would be fine.
Reasonable price and postage paid of course.
Cheers.
I'm off to Camper Jam tomorrow and then heading on down to Swindon for a couple of days. After that I'm traveling back to Holyhead up the coast of Wales staying in various campsites. Back soon.
