I love shit like this...and the one thing that blew me away about the car was that Bench seat! Love their imagination! (y)

the bench in a former life :ROFLMAO:

I dropped it off to Glenn a couple of weeks ago. Out of curiosity/nosiness, I asked what he was going to use it for, he never struck me as a 1302 kind of guy. "An art project" was the answer. I left with mental images of a wall hanging in his garage maybe but never anything as imaginative as this!!

You have to hand it to Glenn and Colin, they have great vision :)

so who took home some silverware? I missed the aircooled prize announcements, too busy chatting etc. I was delighted to be awarded this:

Jeez Trev you just can't help picking up awards can you?

Only results I know are Pre 67 bug. John Healy's 67 won, my 54' was joint runner up with a blue bug, CIN 218?

I was a bit disappointed not to bring the car I had planned down, but it should be OK for the next day out.

Great mix of tin, both inside and out, the DitchRide Beetle was umcredible. I could have pored over the details all day. The seats, the cage, the engine OMGWOW! The crowd's reaction was priceless.

I presume the rusty stuff can be lifted off the shiny pan at some point? Not that they should, but if it ever became necesary…

High five to Trev for E.K. Wyne, the brother and I both had a wee LOL at that!

Did anyone else get slightly sunburnt?

Rest of my shots are at http://www.flickr.com/photos/cianhanrahan/sets/72157633717898578/ unfortunately the phoen battery ran out before I could get everything!

I have to write a report on the show for one of the VW magazines, but I didn't get to stay till the prize giving - would anyone have a list, or at least some of the main winners?

All I can say is well done to who ever was involved in the show yesterday. It couldn't have been any better in my opinion. New venue was unreal and the weather stayed good enough. First time showing a car and first show for my beetle. Was delighted with the feed back which made all the work worth while. Looking forward to fermoy already :) Here are a small few of my photos I took with me phone

In the pre 67 bus class, David McCarty got first prize and Pete(kombi noise) got second for the pick up
and in the post 67 bus Donal Dollery got first and I can't remember who got second, anyone else know ?

Great day out, I thought the venue was fantastic, really upped the ante again. Hat's off to Colin and the organisers for pulling all of that together yesterday, very professional delivery. Loved the William's new creation, just when you think they've done it all, they do some more :D Rez's tunes were spot on, weather played ball and the collection of MK1 Golfs all grouped together was a feast...He'd never say it himself either but Brendan got his 10th consecutive piece of silver ware yesterday, pretty impressive I think to be able to present his beetle like that over the last 10 years (y)

Had a bit of a major downer with the Tatra on the way home but I'll go into that in the Arena...when I can pull myself together over it.
