Sounds good. I have a car full of parts for people and maybe I could take advantage of everybody and have a few parts go in each car. That would leave room for me to tag along with somebody.

Michael that sounds like a plan. I just read your post, thanks!

Too cold and wet for VWs? Who's taking the daily instead?

I had hoped to drive the bus but its not likely now as we are snowed in at the moment, if the snow clears tomorrow i'll be taking the daily.

Does anyone going from Dublin want to meet at the Applegreen petrol station on the N7 at 11.45am?

Cross-country route is looking unlikely due to weather, if i'm travelling via Dublin i'll try and hook-up with you.

only the smallest spinkling of snow in Laois today, hardly enough to put anyone getting here, presuming you can get out of your own county that is ;)

I'm going to give it a go in the Beetle. I just drove home from City West and it wasn't so bad, so long as there aren't any bad hills that is. Of course I was driving a FWD car... should be a different story driving the Bug. A bit of snow never stopped the Germans though!

See you all at the Applegreen. 11:45am

Not looking good here...

I've been in work since 12 (Baltic in here) and have printed only two calendars, press is down and I can't get an engineer in until Monday,
I have switched to another machine but the quality isn't as good so I'm going to have to give up soon. Sorry guys. :(

Im stuck in my friends place in Killiney. I tried getting home and there was no chance! I ended up stuck on an icy slope with a tow truck sliding back towards me and a dickhead in a van behind who refused to move. Then I had to reverse down the other side of the road with my back window fogged up and try to turn in the first driveway I came across, which was nothing but mud but I couldnt see that because of the snow. So, much rocking the car back and forth and I finally got loose and went back to my friends place which was about 100m away! I dont hold out much hope for getting to the AGM, but if I can make it, I'll be there.

Why don't the councils prepare for the snow and frost? It's not like they didn't know it was coming :sos:
The snow and frost in Luxembourg over xmas was great because you could still move about the place. The minute there is any sign of snow or frost the gritters are out followed by snowploughs. When we landed there was at least 3 feet of snow but there were no delays. Watching sky news over xmas was funny because we had just driven back through the same if not heavier snowfalls as at home with no issues while the UK and Ireland ground to a halt :wallbash:

despite my earlier sprinkling of snow comment, we took a spin into Portlaoise today and the roads were quite bad. After the forcast freeze tonight they'll probably be worse tomorrow. Couldn't blame anyone for crying off the journey tomorrow, if it was in Dublin or Cork or anywhere out of the county I'd be having second thoughts of making the journey too.

On the other hand, I was at Midway, where the AGM will be and they have an empty, wide open carpark covered in compacted snow. Someone will have to give a couple of slow-speed donut/drift displays in their bug tomorrow ;)
