Well Lads and Lassies I have to say it was a great weekend ,was a rough few days leading up to it for me but by Jebus it was some craic in the end– thanks to everyone who came (and left ) ,it was magic seen all the busses and bugs and Porsche pulling in .Bug jam me bollox ! lol ,but yea the turn out was testament to the club and it’s members ,the quality of banter and bullshit was second to none –I took a stroll around at about 2am to make sure all was well at the EirBQ and there was poetry and book reading going on in Hugo’s Bus – The lads decided to show Kev exactly how they roll literally ,Kev was spinning an eclectic mix of Jedward and Rod Steward Mashups ,Coxy was entertaining the masses with stories of yester year –To the Dollery’s who tag teamed against me when I was manning the bbq , my fellow ‘Munster Mafia’ crew well done on the Splitty and thanks for coming –Beag was delighted to find out that Beag is infact you ! Gritz thanks for the feed –champ has a new best friend –I’ll get back to you on the intricate way of shaving a chicken and a handful of those stickers, to the lads from Kilkenny Kev,Aoife,Padraigh (car and wife ) ,Eamon (and guitar) ,Keith and his Darling wife thanks for the beers and grub, Justin at long last me met good talking with you –you looked a little under the weather at the show, Larry for his exhaust story AGAIN !! Michael for the lovely tin he brought with him unfortunately the USA biscuits just aren’t the same as fresh out the oven chocolate cookies ,Brian Rafferty and his wife for the cameo appearance , my lovely wife for the flaking cookies and putting up with me rolling into bed at 4.30 am , basically all who helped out –Alice thanks for the plates ,napkins ,cutlery and most importantly the ‘Bundies’ –if ya don’t know what bundies are I will be putting it in the EirCoolloquialism section ,Padraigh and little one with Porsche in tow.
Then the show –well done to Martin for putting together my favourite VW event on the calendar ,to all that won prizes and our very own Alice ,Liam ,Threasa – Munster Mafia all the way .
Tony Vw for the maiden voyage good on ya it’s great to see a build go from project to the road and the mighty Kubel ,very trick indeed and really liked how well the pressed panels looked ,I had a few cars I really liked and there were a few Ghia’s there nice for me and Rocky to look over ,but the steel of the show for me and a well deserved prize/prizes was the Top Secret (almost) dove blue splitty –what can I say that already hasn’t been said it’s right up my street everything from colour/stance /interior /paint/finish ohh what you wouldn’t do !
Great weekend great chatting to everyone new and old ,get the pics up lads –didn’t take much was either too busy cooking or too busy throwing dirty looks at the opposition lol
Oh a mention to Caddy for the schooling we’ll talk again mate and thanks for coming –you get the prize for longest travelled.
Christ I hope I didn’t forget anyone .

Wow, what a weekend. So many impressive cars/buses there! Well done to all who took home a prize. Eircooled cleaned up this year :) Thank you ssssooooooooooooooooooooo much to Mac and Michelle for being such fantastic hosts, with 5star grub (yummy cookies)!!! We have a few pics but takin forever to upload onto photobucket so watch this space. They uploaded quicker onto my facebook if any1 is connected to me. Only possible negative thing I could say about the show was it was a pity there wasn't either a ghia or porsche category you could vote in! Other than that I agree with Mac, BugJam me bollox. Amazing weekend and great gettin to know some of you for the 1st time, and others better. As for Liams splitty, well you can only imagine how excited I was when he bought it, but to see it with all the work done 5 months later it blew me away! Thanks to Hugo for his photography on sat :)
Anyway, great to see you all and once again, can't wait for next year.

Brillant video PJ.
I nearly feel like i was there now :)

LOL is 71-TS still for sale

I double dared PJ to go and ask him lots of questions but he wouldn't so maybe at the next one we can all have a go at asking silly questions.

Question 1: What year is it?

Question 2: What year was it before it became a '71?

Got back to Dublin late last nite and was wrecked so straight to bed....so only getting to post now. What can I say that hasn't already been said about the weekend....For me it was my first drive in the van since I got it so I knew it was going to be a good wkend. I'll start a thread on the van shortly so I just want to say thanks to all for the positive comments on it over the wkend, it's great to get good feedback on your motor and even some advice...

Saturday was a great day, bumpy ride I have to admit for the run and think I raised a spark or two from underneath on some occasions but a nice drive and the food was very welcome at that time of the day....we headed back to macs for the EirBQ. We were welcomed in the gate by Mac in what you might call his communion attire, but he had the lawns trimmed down for us all. The crack was mightn't for the night, tents were pitched, both big and small and then Gritz's...Mac and Michele made everyone really welcome and didn't miss a trick all night, as everyone has already said a MASSIVE thanks to both for inviting us all into their house and catering for us so well. (y) Fair duece to Beag as Coxy said who stayed into the early hours and had to hit a 50min journey home in the early hours in the bug (We thought we had you staying over at that stage)...I must thow in a thanks to Kev (Rez) as well for keeping our ears open for the nite with his tunes and generally been Mrs. Doyle for the nite ;)

Sunday was onto Monard from Macs, let by the convoy queen himself...Rez, I thought we'd never get there, I saw a sign for London at one stage....The day was great, weather was good, if not hot, well done on the Eircooled marquee as it was a nice place to chill out for the day....Congrats to all the prize winners, Eircooled has a big showing in the silverware..Well done again....Pics to follow....

Onwards and upwards for 2011...

Well that's the last time I try be nice to your lowered bus. lol
After Martin's "cruise" (visualise paris-daker) I didn't think the poor cars were able for another back-road expedition, however, the good road I took was a "wee" bit too long for some to manage, eh, Justin!! ;) Glad you found us again.
Well done again on best of show Liam. Truly deserved. Thanks for that accessory again by the way. Can't believe you picked up 3 awards!
How much did paying off Martin cost?
We'll be organising a Munster mafia meet again now that the bus is done and people have free time again. Hopefully you, Alice and a few others will make it. Bet you have that trophy shelf built already. :ROFLMAO:
