I've just finished a full body off restoration on this car for a friend and now he can't get insured because of his age so he is just trying to get back what he has put into it.

If anyone knows of a way of getting a 19 year old insured on a 70 beetle please let me know.

I'm not sure of the exact procedure but it goes something like this: get him to call up three random insurance companies and get refused insurance. Get the refusal in writing/email. Then appeal to the insurance ombudsman and get some kind of letter from them to insist he be insured. There's some rule that if you get refused three times then the fourth HAS to offer you a quote. It may be telephone numbers but then again it might be manageable. If he could afford to sink 11k into a car at age 19 he might have a few more quid to pay for the insurance!!
