this front wheel bearing is going to be smaller than the origional,so its one of the things im hoping to test at the local karting/sprint/drift track before it ever goes near the road.

was delighted to find that, when the wishbones were in a suitable place, the 7" steelies fitted lovely!

had to start thinking about a jig then.the Locost builders website was a big help at this stage.i could get all the drawings and dimensions they use,and see how they put their jigs together.the bottom wishbones are a little further apart than the Locost.

i dont have many pics from here up until where it is now.i got a jig built, and the bottom wishbones tacked in place.thats when the real head scratching started.
around this time i moved job,and house to Athlone.it took me a few months to get a shed set up in Athlone.i didnt have the use of my fathers camera anymore either.
i built a better jig there from stainles, mostly.
i had to learn loads of stuff about roll centers, camber gain, and bump steer etc,but it was a good way to learn about it,i suppose.
i have a few pics from my brothers mobile of where it is now.will get pics of the jig and all soon.

you`ll have to patent this set up colm, looks every bit as good as the expensive off the shelf kits that are available ! fair fucks to ya for getting stuck in and doing your own thing :rate10:

i found it slow/hard going around this time, and hard to stay motivated at times.in order to fire myself up again,i painted up the four 7" steelies in the closest colour i could find to anodised red,and fitted white wall inserts...it worked for me!..

cheers Barry,i was thinkin of patenting it as a new type of boat anchor at times.i'll count it as a hunk of junk till it goes around the track without the wheels falling off!
