duts has built a fuel injected 1641 for himself. The arse-cheek-dyno says it's a good bit better than last year's stock 1600...

The arse cheek dyno doesnt lie trev! Last year I ran the 1600i normally aspirated set up putting out a whopping wait for it 42hp best time was 20.5, this year its 1641i reworked set up. Hp unknown best time tba!!

Has anyone built an engine for this yet or are all the engine builds escalating to bigger capacities?

Dave what sort of times were the 1641's running last year?

I ran 17.6 in the ghia with 1641 and 120 in a very poorly set up car. Felt fast and fun

Im looking to to take at least a second off my time this time round. I might lose a bit of extra weight too this year I only took the spare and jack out last year.

COOL our Baja Ran 17.859 .with a borrowed 1600cc engine (thanks dave) only mods were twin 36 webbers No fan belt and we removed as much weight as possible .roll on this year we are running the car even lighter with a 1915 cc motor LOL

What setup did John Kelly use, was that the ex Beetle cup car?Some interesting there, actually shows what can be gained from a few mods.
