Cold night in Limerick tonight. On my way there tonight I heard a bang and lost power . I got it going again but realised I had no indicators. The van was outside last night and rain got in at the wiper spindle. I guessed that some had trickled into the relays. As we were about to go for food my van wouldn't start. I pulled relays and cleaned some rust from them (obviously not the first time it had leaked) and the van started straight up.
Very strange as it felt like a timing or fuel issue. Got home no bother. Thanks to everyone for their suggestions and moral support.
Thanks to the few lads to arrived in their daily's straight from work. Brian is trying to set a record by arriving in a different car each night. Tonight it was another bimmer.

A cold quiet tonight to report on. Just 3 vans. A few chicken fillet burgers and coffee made it worthwhile though :)

Would love to see a few more out again next month

This Tuesday will be our last meet of the year. Lets make it a good one! Meet as usual at 7:30 at Chalkes filling station. Would people be up for a cruise in convoy to Collins bar in Dooradoyle for food/coffee? It's about 15 min spin along the motorway.

6 members braved another freezing night in Limerick tonight with 4 in VW's (We'll forgive Paddiad55 for getting a lift down after breaking his hand recently)
Took a spin to Collins bar which I'm sure we'll visit again. Food is decent, parking a-plenty. Cars had frozen again when we came back out.
2 quick snaps to document the night....

I'm just in from work and tried to start the beetle. Battery was dead after being left over Christmas without a spin. It's on charge now so hopefully I'll be in it later. It's blocking the van in so I can't take that.

Just using this as a reminder to start your cars BEFORE you need them if they have't been used over Christmas! ;)

Get a trickle charger from Halfords, they cost about €30 and you leave it charging all the time your not driving. They keep the battery fully charged and only turn on if the charge drops

I just forgot to unhook the positive terminal when I parked up. It's rare that I leave it so long without driving it. I have an aftermarket stereo which drains it. No natural light in my garage anyway as I keep a blind across the window.

Anyway.......... 6 members turned up tonight, one in his recently purchased jetta. Lovely car!

I'm thinking about a cruise this Tuesday night, weather depending.
Was thinking of heading to the new Applegreen service station at Junction 27 (one junction up from our meeting point). It has a Costa, Burger King and a Subway so plenty of choice for grub.
Maybe a few Tip members would like to meet us there?

We'll meet at the usual location in Limerick at half 7 and head off very shortly afterwards. This gives y'all a few days to pull the finger out on those last few jobs over the weekend.

Well we found a new destination for some future Limerick meets tonight. Everyone agreed that the service station at Birdhill was just the ticket.
