People usually start arriving at about 9:30 but 10-11 should see you right.
I might go to this... is anyone passing through Portlaoise town that I might be able to hop in with?
Also... I think there should be a selection of POS prizes on hand for any cars that turn up with a goose and four gooslings in the back... we want all old VW’s to turn up regarded of condition.

Beetle.ie will be hosting a "photo booth" at Jumpstart 2018!!
This will hopefully make it easier for Irish VW enthusiasts to get their cars included in the Beetle.ie census and book.
If you have any printed pictures of old VWs in your family album or maybe a bunch of real paper photos from shows from years ago, please bring them along and the folks from Beetle.ie will scan them there and then and return them to you.
Any old photos of VWs in years gone by are perfect for the team at Beetle.ie so have a root through the old family albums and bring them along on Saturday.
This is the first time that Ireland's VW history as well as your own personal photo history has ever been recorded like this so why not share your stories and photos with Beetle.ie on Saturday. You never know, your VW and your story might be part of this historical book!

Amazing what a deadline will do eh?With Burty going into the Special Edition Beetles display on Saturday I spent the afternoon scrubbing and polishing..........something I haven't done to this poor car in absolute ages!
The inside is still manky but I'll get to that during the week.

Guys & Gals, Stump has done it again! Yep, he's made one of his famous Beam Trophies for Jumpstart 2018 
Paul surprised me this morning with this awesome trophy that he made himself. It's only just back from the powdercoaters. That's an amazing thing to do and an even better prize for whoever wins Best of Show on Saturday!

This won't affect all of the visitors to Jumpstart this Saturday but for those participating in Ireland's first ever Special Edition Beetle display, we've commissioned these custom made Special Edition keyfobs. They feature the Jumpstart 2018 logo on one side and a period press ad for each Special Edition on the reverse.
Just a little memento to commemorate the event.
Regular aircooled VW drivers won't be left out though, you'll get your trademark free Jumpstart goody bag as per usual!

fantastic work on the trophy, Paul - a work of art. And what a great idea with the key rings - very cool.
Last night started preparing Zippy for Jumpstart, and like Coxy, took him to the local garage to hose him down, then a quick.... well, quick for Zippy..... drive back to dry, clean, polish, and wax.
The today realised I hadn't changed the fuel hoses - so into the motor factors in Athlone for some fuel hose and a filter - so hopefully now all ready to roll on Saturday morning.
