Ya can't blame people for not gettin behind the agm this year. Plans were made to change the date to sometime in March which was fine but that means plans that were made for Jan had to be scrapped. now i don't see alot of the people who wanted it changed with names on the list to the new date. The planning of the new date seems to be a bit vague (with all due respect to Kev or anyone else involved) so again people don't know what is actually going on. people need details.
In any case not more than 25 ever turn up to the agm so........its seems on course for that anyway.

As for the club just being a website anybody at jumpstart 2013 would disagree i think, biggest eircooled crowd i've seen at any meet!

A lot of people were set for the 3rd as that was the date posted since Christmas, then at last minute we were told it might not happen or could be the 10th or at Jumpstart......
As for the club only being a website, that's crap, now as the evenings are longer watch the Dublin meets get busy again, an the club attendance at shows is always good.

^ this and this...

I was one of those that wanted it moved from Jan to March, was all set for the March 3rd and the recent change to the 10th has messed it all up for me.

Set a date for the AGM that gives at least 4-5 weeks notice to people and stick to it, you're not going to please everyone but changing the date with one or two weeks notice won't please anyone...

I know Caddy was set to travel on the 3rd, with people willing to travel from Armagh, Galway, limerick an Cork you need a bit of notice.

Personally the earlier in the year the better. We're almost upon Paddies weekend an from March on everything kicks off sp its only going to get harder to find a suitable date.

The problem is no matter what date you organise the AGM it will not suit everyone, numbers are very poor this week but really the AGM is just a catch up for club members and most got to catch up at Jump Start. Sunday looks to be going ahead but really it has no standing as only a handful of club members will be there to decide on club matters.

After all is their anything pressing in the club that cannot be posted online?

It would be ideal to have the AGM before Jump Start, Limerick show in May, Vage or Martin Murrays show. I think as many club members should try get to Naas on Sunday for a bit of banter and I can organise a bit of a drive after for food if people want.

yep it is.

agm will be what people make of it. We'll have to try harder to get a date and stick to it for next year.

AGM on the same day as a show/jumpstart isn't a great idea in my mind, there's already enough going on on the day. Imagine at 2pm anyone who's a member all fecking off to sit in a room. Those non-members would be left outside wondering where the hell everyone and the atmosphere of the day went...

I don't see the point behind having an AGM when there isn't any Committee or Officers running the club from year to year. It's more just a social event which can be held any time of the year. In fact JUMPSTART should probably just replace the AGM altogether in my opinion. Usually when anything in the club is being done it usually ends up with the person who suggested it to organise it. :)

I agree. Why not just call a spade a spade here. I don't give a shite about the meeting. Never have! The last couple of years I went was just for the piss-up, so why don't we organise an eircooled piss-up? Some of you can call it an AGM if you like, or if it makes it easier to get permission off the other half but it's still a piss-up in a hotel.

I think such ideas need to be discussed at an AGM!

Seriously though it would be a good idea but it should have been mentioned months ago if you were to combine both. There does need to be an AGM an it is a social occasion, but that's the nature of this club, it is more social than political but certain matters need to get discussed an often the forum is not the best way to have a discussion. An hour or so is all it takes an having it at a 'gathering' like Jumpstart seems good. Having it at a show mid summer is not so good as people are busy with cars, prepping an polishing or just chilling an chatting. It's hard to say hello to everyone at Limerick an see all the cars without having to attend a meeting too.
