thanks Johnny.it was definately fun anyway.you should definatly should give it a try if you're thinking about it at all-the octane/backroads crowd are very patient-no pressure to go any faster than you want-you can pull in and out of the pits whenever you like,and loadsa room on track.dont need a really fast car either-my friend brought a bog standard volvo 340 before+had a laugh.
i didnt have a speedo,but i guess around 90 max,possibly less-tight last corner+shortish straight.

Reading here one there's a father an son, one car is 1776 an the other is 1914' both are swing axel 70's bugs,

But he says none balljoint, but the build pic on facebook shows king an link front end, wonder did SA built bugs continue to use K&L into the 70's? Goes bloody well for what it is!

Well done Colm. Got passanger laps in this around mondello at the trackday. Can't believe how good it was for its first proper drive. That front suspension seems to be a great set up. Handled hard braking/turn in and hopping off kerbs great. I know its sidewards in alot of pics and videos, but colm wasnt exactly trying to drive smoothly planting he foot half way around corners. Half of the time I was looking forward out the side window!
Made a video of a few warm up laps just after pulling out of the pits (shakiest video ever, camera mount broke : ( and when he started to speed up the memory on card ran out!)

i didn't have much choice to be honest-just had a look at the back wheels again today-massive amount of play in both sides!
not sure what it is yet-the main hub nuts are tight+wheel studs..there was a bit of play in the splinds before,i just remembered-dont know much about the wheel bearing set-up in these.

aw-thanks lads,i probably have a pic after all the water pissed out on the track anyway,if im stuck!
might do that so-think i need to contact the photographer to get one without the watermark,not that i mind,but i heard thats what they are there for.
