Hey folks,

happy new year to all at Eircooled!

Due to the delivery of a brand new small person during the summer, we have been a bit remiss with keeping up to date with the forums as we're too knackered from changing nappies and getting no sleep. However, we've gathered our wits to get Vantastival 2012 together and here's an update on the festival.

Vantastival is moving from Dunany this year due to the growth of the Workmans' equestrian business at Dunany Estate. They couldn't guarantee the availability of the paddocks at the time of the festival. It has worked out very well for us because the new venue at Bellurgan Park is more suitable for Vantastival with a stunning location very easy to access from the M1. It's slightly further north on the Carlingford peninsula but its proximity to the motorway means it doesn't take any longer to get there. www.bellurganpark.ie

We are currently working on the festival line up and have some great acts confirmed. We should be able to announce headliners in the next few weeks. Everything else is going according to plan. Our Christmas tickets sold out but we can offer a club rate of €60 for Eircooled members if anyone wants to organise a block booking. Otherwise, the earlybird tickets will go on sale at the start of February for three weeks only and will cost €70.

We are in the running for Best Small Festival at the European Festival Awards taking place in Holland on January 11. It's a long shot but it's nice to be nominated! Closer to home, voting is still open for the Irish Festival Awards and we're nominated in six categories so please vote for us at http://www.irishfestivalawards.ie/ . We're definitely in with a shot here so please please spread the word and post the link on your facebook pages etc. and vote from as many email addresses as you have.

We're going to get a survey ready to get feedback on last year's event also so we'll post that up when it's ready. If anyone has any suggestions about this year's festival just let us know! I hope to see loads of you having the craic at Vantastival 2012.

All the best,

Benny

I dragged some of my mates to this last year and we had the best weekend in years of road trips to car an bike stuff, it's a music festival but not as you know it, it's like a vw show without the show, it's like going racing for the weekend without having to race!

We loaded up the vans an a little over an hour we where there which was a big change compared to heading to Spa or Santa Pod lol, we spent the whole weekend drinking an talking at the vans breaking for a few hours each night to Skank to Pressure Drop an dance to Drum & bass before finishing up at the gramophone disco!

highly recommended especially now that it's at Belurgan park, that's a great venue for it, Ive raced bikes there before, great access to M1 and lovely surroundings!

oh an Benny, Pressure Drop for main stage in 2012!

Well done Benny. We went to Vantastival last year for 1st time and before it was over we had already started planning our 2012 visit. We camped in a tent with our 5 kids aged 6 to 14. The kids had a ball and both of us felt like we were back in our college days again. Really looking forward to vantastival 2012, as we've invested in a caravan for this year ( gettin too old for sleeping on the ground LOL ) . Loads of out friends are talking about attending, after listening to our non-stop ranting about how much we and the kids enjoyed it. I hope you can continue to keep the same spirit and atmosphere, as the event grows in popularity. Great how all ages can enjoy such a festival. And great that there's a safe family area for those of us with smallies. Will there be a family thicket that we can avail of this year ???

Thanks ,

Jagman & The Gang, Cork

Love all the enthusiasm!!! Regarding the block booking, it would be great to get it in by the end of January but the absolute deadline has to be the 21st February, which is when our earlybird tickets come off sale. The sooner the better though.
oh an Benny, Pressure Drop for main stage in 2012!
We'll get back to you on this one! Those guys have turned out to be one of the most popular things about the festival!!
