TheFormula V festival will held again this year on the 6th and 7th of July atMondello Park. I'm just starting this thread and John Downey will add some more infoin the next few days. I had a really good weekend last year at this event and Iknow the guys at formula V have some great ideas this year. This is a good opportunityto see some racing, a drive around the track and hopefully a good turnout ofBeetles and vans. This is well worth supporting and it’s free. Last yearMondello Park probably witnessed the first time a Karman Ghia towing a caravanwhilst taking the bends at break neck speeds. This is one for the diary, hope you all can make it.

i was at that last year and thought it was class!seen a few mad things in Mondello since i was a young lad,but only two really stand out-Metro 6r4 driving over the roof of Audi Quattros in the european rallycross in the 80's,and the yellow Karmann Ghia and caravan heading down the track in the sunshine-looked mad from the stands, along with all the other cool Vdubs!
couldn't help thinkin tho,it would have been class if there was a bit of drag racing organised at the same time for the beetles etc-is there any chance of that happening?..it seemes like a good spot for it..

Awh jasus - not again!

This clashes with Terenure Motor Show, so we'll probably end up with poor numbers at both venues like Monard last year! :helpme:

Let the pipe an slipper brigade hang out at Terenure, I'd rather have a blast around Mondello again, at least I can get the Oval in without wrecking the floor pan.

I'd love to get to Mondello as well & Formula Vee looked like a great event last year - but I just don't understand how it can't be organised on some other date than one of the most popular shows in the country. Thought that problem was solved last year!

Eh? This isn't laid on specifically for us, it's a racing event/weekend that we are invited to join, and nothing to do with any classic car shows.

@Mikey, Terenure means nothing to the organisers of The Vee Festival, they have far more dates to worry about, they have a season of races in Ireland, north an south plus Wales an possibly Brands Hatch to consider plus they have to fit it in with Mondellos calender an they have something happening every weekend.

@Pat - that's the way I've gone since the 70's before the Mway was built. I can't get over the speed bump in the other village anyway that why I go along the canal.

Sure Mikey, you were gone out of terenure by half 10 last year. The show hadn't even started at that stag and you had bolted because of a bit of rain:p
