Boat to France would be the job.

Your probably looking at 350 for ferry, 300 for fuel and 25 a day on food at a push.

not again...

see u there:cool:

we hope
was just leaving maynooth when the steering wheel came loose...:helpme:
was only a few threads holding it on...and they didnt want to hold on anymore.
so we went back for some superglue...and it seems to be grand now,,(y),,,
well it was up to the boat anyway.
but then after filllin up the tank at the port,
it started f...ing about.think the timings out,
but after fiddling about with it for 5mins,we were told it wasnt a garage...
so we have to go at it again in holyhead when we get there at 1am ish.
will post an update sometime tomorrow;if we arent on the next boat back.

If you got Landfill to London only hours after being finished through the worst weather the UK has seen for years then I'm pretty sure you'll get there. Best of luck Pete.
See you in Belgium.

dover

dover

just pulling out of dover now.
a bit behind schedule...

we had 3 and a half hours at Holyhead
assisted by taxi headlights under the s.cab.
jon was back on the nightshift after adjusting to the dayshift
he doesn't know whether hes coming or goin at the mo;
slept most of the way down today in the rain.

we didn't know if it was electrics or fuel...
turns out after removing one of the 2 fuel filters
it was ready to play again...
after takin out and cleaning plugs, fuel pump, adjusting dizzy etc.
the steering wheel has held well with the super glue.

we heard at port that 100"s had passed through earlier today.
so now we just got to catch up.
hope to be at bbt past Antwerp by about 9pm...in time to get the tent up before dark.

I need some sleep...good nite:dizzy:

we got off the boat to heavy enough rains.
and were aiming for 1st fuel stop,,,about 20 0r 30 km from dunkirk
when...yeah.we ran out of fuel.had a bit in a can,but not enough.
didnt top it up after using it to bypass the filter in holyhead.
went walkin to near farmhouse...that we could see from motorway.got wet
no one home walked a couple of km to others...
all farmers that only sucked diesel.
went back to motorway...no one was stoppin at the sight of a fuel can in hand
before or after i went walkin.
so decided to walk on down motorway to hitch
got a lift straight away
sound man took me 8km to next gas station and back again.happy days!
did a quick stop to pick up some yellow headlight lenses for the oval and on to bbt.
it was pissin down thunder and lightnin
didnt hook up the wipers at any stage.as they arent great,
and id had lots of exp with "landfill"
met a couple from uk in a 67 split and drove last bit with them.
got there about 11pm,in time to go to bed.
just got tent up before rain started.

woke up about 4am to see it rainin in the tent.
we hadnt bothered with tent pegs or guylines.so it wasnt taught.
had set alarm for 10am.lol
jon was out with the camera before 7,
just as well, convoy ended up starting to leave at 8.
police had roads held up to let all dubs out at intervals
it was rainin heavy enough through holland...convoy was fairly spread out.
weather got much better in germany...
convoy regrouped at a few petrol stations on the way.
we got to hessisch about 2 hours ago to a lovely summer eve.
u can guess the rest.oval and split bugs all over the place as well as loads of nice buses etc.
jon has been takin the pics
not sure when he will get chance to upload.

all the best.

early bays even seem too modern now.lol
there was some amount of stuff at it.
s.cab got lots of attention...mucho!
jon cant do pics at mo as my computer cant take his card.
we didnt know u had to reg to get free tickets to the grundmann collection,
and by time we heard on satday, they had printed more tickets but they were all gone,
then we met ivan mc[volksworld]and he said we shoulg go down and slip in with a tour...
went down but was an hour after they closed...
there were a handfull of people in same boat,
we spoke to a man who worked there and said we came a long way etc,
was there any chance...he said hang around and he would ask christian....
we got very lucky, they started arriving back with the rometschs and model 38 and that skinny black one
and some army stuff.from their display in town.mental.
so he parked a few inside and then we and upto 20 others got the tour.
wow...some collection.
it was unhurried and leisurely.

we went on to wolfsburg on monday, there was a couple of dozen on camping too from uk
we drove up waith a couple of scots we met at hessisch.via bergen belsen.conc camp.bit grim.
we just been in autostadt this mornin.
and are about to go to the other mueseum across the river.
thenlater or tomorrow
spin up to hamburg for the prototyp one.
its all go....
we will be fecked by time we get to bug in!
