Apart from the hideousness of it all it has a Jersey reg - I'd imagine that registering it would involve duty & vat

Yep, if it is Jersey, then duty & VAT both apply, and probably VAT on the duty too !

Is Jersey not in the EU? If it was reg'd in the EU then Vat and Duty would have been paid. That's what the lovely people in the Vrt office said.
