We also have an open day on the 5th*of July (It’s a Sunday) from*12pm*until*4pm*if you were interested in coming down and doing a display again let me know. You would be welcome to bring your families and there will be activities open for everyone to participate in.

it's always a great way to spend the evening and the kids get such a kick out of it! The open day was great craic last year. Duts's tiny mind was blown by the circus. Should have seen the chap, eyes like saucers!!! :ROFLMAO:

Just wanted to check in with you about coming down to Barretstown for the open day on the 5th*of July? Are there people from Eircooled still interested in coming down? It would be the same as last year if they could just make sure they have their insurance disks and we can take a list of names for insurance but off hand do you know roughly how many *people were interested in coming down? Just to know how much space to allocate for you guys!!! If you wanted to arrive between 11 and 11.30am and the open day begins at*12pm. If you also drive in the estate gate instead of the general admission entrance on the day!!

Also just checking if you are all good for dropping the kids to the disco on the 10th*of July and again do you have a rough estimation of how many people are coming down? That’s the same as last year to arrive for*7pm*give the campers a spin until about*8pm*and then you are welcome to come and party at the disco for a while!;)

Sunday July 5th - Family Fun Day!!!!!!

This is a great day for everyone, especially the kids. The idea behind this day is that those kids who have been to Barrettstown over the years can come back and enjoy a family fun day with their friends and family. There's lots to do and lots of yummy food!!!!
Last year one of the circus companies brought down and set up their big tent and had a number of shows going on, there was a hot air balloon display archery and canoeing to name but a few. Trev, Tracy, Deckie & Brian brought their families and really enjoyed it. We are encouraged to join in so don't be worried that we'll be left standing around for the day.......I guarantee you that you will not be bored.
Barrettstown has become our charity of choice and as such it would be fantastic if we could show our support to this wonderful place by being there with our own display. There won't be any other clubs there so it's quite an honour to have been asked.
So, what about it guys and gals, can we put an effort in and have a display we can be proud of and one that will add to the day for the kids and families?

Bernie told us yesterday that this week is their biggest camp with over 130 campers so a big response from Eircooled would be so great to see.
It's been said so many times just how good and rewarding this 'disco run' is and it really is. For just an hour on site you leave with the biggest buzz and from the staff and the kids. Everyone loves our old VWs and you are made to feel like you have helped a lot and that doesn't happen too much these days so well worth the minimal effort.
The schedule is very simple in that we arrive at 7pm and by 7:30pm we are lined up in front of the castle and wait for the kids to arrive. They come around the corner, cabin by cabin and we bring them to the theatre which is where they have a red carpet and paparazzi waiting to ambush the kids as the cars pull up. The more cars we get, the quicker the runs are over but it never takes more than 1 hour as we do not leave the grounds - the run is very short: leave the castle and drive along by the lake and then through the courtyards to the theatre and that's it. All I will say is that the energy level is at maximum so you will enjoy it and you will leave having just had the best kickstart to any weekend.

If you are new to Eircooled or maybe you haven't been able to get to any of the events/shows before and don't know anyone, well this is the perfect opportunity to get to know people in your club. Step away from the computer for a night, get into your VW and have some fun while at the same time helping an amazing charity.

There is generally refreshments for us after the kids have been dropped to the disco so we often hang around and just catch up.

Please add your name to the list and see if we can match the biggest camp in the history of Barretstown by having the biggest turnout of VWs at a 'disco run'
