Yeah, €3.5k for a car that's not moved in years and needs a full going over mechanically, not to mention what hidden dry rot is in there! Good luck to him if he can get that!

I might give him a ring, see would he sell the engine for a fiver. (y) :drinkbeer:

Anyone else having issues trying to open the donedeal links, even when i am on their site i cannot open up the full add, same issue on my work pc ????

that's not a proper westy is it? it looks like it has panelvan conversion windows in the sides. I thought all Westys were based on factory window-buses?

Yeah,, I thought they were converted from sunroof microbus bodies...

early westies certainly were. Late ones were sent to the Westfalia factory with unfinished roofs as far as I can see. They were then finished by Westfalia.

I'm sure someone like Crazylegs could advise on this, he's seen more of them stripped back to nothing than I have.

but either way, I was certain that VW supplied window buses to Westfalia directly. Some other convertors bought up panel vans or whatever they could get through the dealers.

Rear hinge Westy should have a cross-member to support the top bed.................
