This is a brilliant idea, fair play Ben for organising it. I'd definitely love to take the van for a shot down the strip and see what she'll do..
25th isn't the best date for me, as Im in Wexford that weekend, but I'm going to try work something out and drive up from wexford early that morning if I can... (7th/8th Sept would be the best weekend for me, but I know that clashes with vanfest/busfest).

A helmet is no problem.. What are the views/rules on seatbelts?.. or lack there-of...... Are lap-belts sufficient?

Right folks, no real update YET but i have been on the phone today and have and a positive chat with the the organisers, the summary of that conversation is this.

Yes we can do it. But it is all about the numbers, and i cannot stress this enough, to make this work and keep the financial cost of it for each person low enough then we simply need MORE uptake. I will get i final price this week that i will have to work to, this will let me know how many vehicles we need at say £40 a car. So if you know someone with an aircooled who you think would fancy it then kick them in the a$$ and point them this way.

Remember, This will be the whole of irelands FIRST EVER AIRCOOLED DRAG DAY!!! there simply hasnt been one EVER!!! the uk has one, belgium has one, the u.s has one, bout time we stepped up!!!!!

If i can get this ball rolling then i will do my utmost to make sure you all have an absolute blast and go home thinking it was money well spent.

Lads and lasses, ive just found out that Honda Haven have their drag day next week, they have 57 vehicles all pre paid and booked ready to race, we need to be aiming for at the very least 40. The only other option is to make it a dual event and get the watercooled boys on board!!
