Have a respected VW Mechanic and collector friend offering a 1950 standard model split beetle for sale here in Australia or for export. It has been converted to RHD but can easily be returned to LHD.

He is old school and not computer literate, and asked if I could help publicise the auction.

If you want to speak with him please call Andrew on 00 612 9683 2184. Sydney is 9 hours ahead of GMT, but Andrew gets to work by 5am each day so you can call from 8pm GMT onwards.

Lovely rare care deserves to go to a good home.

Happy to help with shipping via Sydney port.

Here is the link to the auction:-

Thanks

Steve

there`s no way that one will leave australia , booming economy , ultra strong dollar , and plenty of big players in the vw game over there. factor in the shipping costs to ireland / uk and it`ll turn out as expensive as a fully restored split in europe

Sure are. Splits were never sold in Oz as they didn't get their first Beetles until late 1953 so Ovals only.

Would it still not be cheaper to import one or are the laws regarding importing vehicles into Aussie land a little difficult?
