My starter motor is packing up, I'm sending it off to be reconditioned.

Does anyone have a spare starter Motor that is working I could borrow until
I get the original one back, I'll be at Terenure on Sunday. :D Thanks.

Easier to just buy a new one and drop it in, no? How much is recon compared to replacement, can't be much in the difference...?

Thanks man. Very grateful.

Left for work and I had to start it in second gear this morning.

I'm going to drive down to Jon Whites after work today and get a new motor and fit it later this evening.

Literally just in the door from Castledermot.

Got a 75 Euro one from Jon, and asked him about it being from China.
The one I have is from America, and says the Chinese ones are grand.

Jeez, just take the motor apart yourself and clean and grease it! Give the commutator a bit of a rub with sandpaper and it should be fine. It'll cost you nothing and if it doesn't work, then get a new one. They're a very simple machine.

Stripped out the starter motor last night, which was covered in gearbox oil.
In the few days the clutch had slipped, I'm removing the engine tomorrow weather depending (driveway) replace the seal. I'm aware of an small oil leak from the engine.
We'll look at that while it's out, I want it perfect for Modello.

Oh I dropped the original starter motor too be reconditioned, it was full of oil too. €70.
Will put it back on when all gets fixed.

is your clutch slipping because of the oil leak? The drive plate/disk will probably need to be replaced if it's contaminated with oil...
