Cool, I take it off tomorrow night, its the early one that takes the narrower rear shoes!

are they 30mm brake shoes?

Heres the shoes, Id say theyre about 30 all right, didnt measure them, just got a drum of my 65 chassis and they measured the same almost, diameter, spline depth and offset! Only difference is the outer ring! On the early drum the backing plate covers the drum but the later drum has an extra ring the same diameter as the early backing plate!

The plan is to stick the later drum in a lathe and machine off the outer part of the drum so it can slide into place!

Hopefully it will get me to the shows this weekend! til I sort an original part! NB: The drum I removed has a 57' manufacturing date!
