Wanted: Cheap beetle!

A mate of mine is looking for a cheap beetle for a project so I said I'd ask around! He's not too worried about condition but needs a complete car and not a basket case either! W.H.Y.????

Great idea. Buy the '84 Beetle for a good price and then buy the '74 chassis Jason is selling and there's a cheap solid Beetle with €48 road tax and on an OG Irish reg

I'm afraid my mate is holding off at the mo, he's only 21 so is having problems gettign a cheap or any insurance quote!!!

There's always ways around these problems. Maybe he could go as a named driver on someone elses policy. I did that for several years. In fact, the only policy I ever had in my own name was on my MG.

Forgive my ignorance but what would be reasonable be? 500? 1000? 2k?

Dirty... He may be able to get a quote off FBD if he'll be running a more modern car at the same time.
They quoted me only €165 extra to add the bug on if I had the Alfa with them too.

A mate of mine has a complete 1968 1300 original irish car, original engine and driving, but needs some T L C !
