EIRCOOLED / NBOC / NCC Drive In Movie Premiere - APOLOGY

EIRCOOLED / NBOC / NCC Drive In Movie Premiere - APOLOGY

DRIVE IN MOVIE UPDATE - APOLOGY
Peter Ferguson and myself were in touch with NCC late today NCC told us that the Booking Engine was set up incorrectly, per person not per vehicle.
The booking engine has now been amended and 65 tickets are now available. Apologies again folks our early celebrations were a bit premature but we genuinely thought the tickets were sold out due to the system fault. The wonders of technology !!
The link is now live on the NBOC / Eircooled forums.

Hi all,

do get behind this unique event and get your tickets. They are on sale see above. Would love to see a majority of dubbers there. As far as we are aware we are the only Drive in Movie Premier of the Bug Movie and could be the first globally. Ireland gets in first.

Also making history seeing NBOC and Eircooled come together for an event.

Ticket is £20 per vehicle and can include up to five people. As well we will have a Mourne Coastal Cruise, an afternoon chilling in Donard Park, the Movie, an after show party. On the Sunday afternoon Dave Manning of the Bus Movie is flying in to entertain us with life on the road and a few tunes!

There are multiple accommodation options. We plan to have a place for campervans to park and sleep near to the Park and Anchor Bar. However, if you want electric hook up and fancy showers etc - there are plenty of campsites nearby - see the link below for camping and accommodation options.

For more accommodation and information on Newcastle and this jewel of the North area please visit:

Book your tickets before they go on general release.

Myself and Beag have our tickets and are ready for the cruise to the movies!

Well done to the boys for organising this. As far as I know it's the only premiere of The Bug Movie being done as a drive-in anywhere in the world! Even the premiere in California, the home of cool VWs, was 'only' done in a regular cinema.

I was talking to Peter at Jumpstart and I believe that UTV will be there reporting from the event, we will be covering it for Volksworld Magazine, Irish Vintage Scene Magazine and no doubt local and national papers will run features too.

The Mourne Coastal Cruise should be something unique too as we've never really done any large scale cruises in Ireland.

There's only a short while left to get your exclusive aircooled only tickets before they are released to the general public..........who will rock up in their Fords and Hondas (sorry Duts) and ruin the parking line-up :p

The tickets are cheap as chips so get 'em while they're hot!!!!!!

Thanks Cathal for all your belief in this. Hope this weekend will be something unique and special alright. We decided to dream big and do something that has never been done before in Ireland dub circles.

The Drive in Movie site is in Donard Park and is pure beauty - ask Stump! It is flanked by the Mourne Mountains and sea. Looking forward to welcoming folks to this jewel of a place.

Get booking tickets before they go on general release to the public. Happy Days

Guys this is really shaping up to be a great weekend. Thanks all in eircooled who have already bought tickets and many who have PMed and coming. There is such a buzz about this, the craic is mighty. Tickets are selling really well and we would love they were sold out before going to the general public.

I really think we are on the cusp of a new wave of emerald isle aircooled alliances and partnerships. Often I look at the 'BIG' shows in UK and Europe and feel envious. But more and more, I feel we should all get together and make new never been done before happenings in Ireland, make friends, drive our dubs and make memories for life, using the best of our Irish sensibilities - amazing scenery, people and craic.

JumpStart is a focal point of it all, bringing people together in the most relaxed and non ego way. Just park up, chat and meet folks and enjoy. We hope the day in Donard Park before the movie will have the same vibe. Us from NBOC felt so welcomed and just cant wait to extend the same welcome to everyone else.

Tickets are £20 - every penny going into the movie and what is left is flying DAve Manning over. The ticket price is per vehicle (up to 5 people) and includes:

The Mourne Coastal Cruise all the way to Donard Park (breath-taking scenery - that's why they film Game of Thrones there)
The Movie
After Show Party in the Anchor Bar with a live band
Lazy Sunday with the Dave Manning experience.

The energy and positivity about this up here is something else. Be part of it.

See my previous post for accommodation options.

We are so close to confirming camping in an enclosed area of Donard Park from the council. We cant promise this just yet, as councils take forever and hopefully will sign it off early next week. As soon as they do we will let you all know. This is so that folks can park their vans and be near the Anchor Bar after party, the Lazy Sunday Dave Manning experience and all Newcastle has to offer. There are plenty of flat car parks that motor homes unofficailly pitch up at any way - but ideally we want an enclosed and safe area in the park. Will keep you all updated. Working hard for you all.

Google Newcastle and the Mournes - paradise on earth. The Movie site itself is stunning, flanked by sea and the Mournes.

Hey Mick and Darren,

great you got tickets. The tickets go to Joe public on WEDNESDAY THIS WEEK!! Newcastle Community Cinema have over 1k followers on their facebook page and they will go. NNC have really embraced the concept of this being a mainly vintage vw event and have given the aircooled communities a two week exclusive window to tickets. They have so many supporters, yet have protected this side of the show.

But all that will change on Wednesday this week. Whatever is left will go to all.

So lets give a last push and see us reach our 80% aircooled dubs in the park target!!

It is amazing how many people I contact and ask - did you get your tickets and they say - oh yes I intend to get round to that!!

Text, whats app, messenger the link to all the dubbers you know and see this an aircooled sell out!

Cant wait to meet you all at Warrenpoint on the Saturday for the Mourne Coastal Cruise to Donard Park and a day chilling in this paradise of a place before the sun goes down and it's Movie time!!

HIT THE BUTTON!

So far we have: tons of bugs from oval up to Mexi bug booked. Stock, custom, early 90's Irish cal look.... Anyone know any split window beetle owners they can invite to it?

We have all generations of aircooled vans. One County Down reg split screen camper that hasn't been on the roads in decades is being worked on by NBOC member Phillip Shields with the Movie being the deadline.

We have a notchback just out out of a resto.

Not sure if we have any Karmann Ghais in the line up yet: any Karmann Ghia owners out there or you can invite.

Donard Park will have some line up. The day in the park before the movie itself will be an experience.

Invite, invite, invite!!

Great to see the camping announcement for the Drive in Movie. This means we can offer a festival feel over the weekend.

We are running a Mourne Coastal Cruise meeting with the Eircooled & NBOC legends in Warrenpoint around 12 noon and cruising the stunning Mourne coastal route all the way to Donard Park for 2pm. In the enclosed paddock we can park up and chill!!

OH yes:

As well as camping the enclosed paddock is right beside the Movie site and means we have somewhere secure to Park up and Show our cars and enjoy the festival build up to the movie ...in the heart of the park. Movie time, then after show party at the Anchor bar and near the Dave Manning experience the next day. There are also other multiple accommodation options in Newcastle. So do plan to stay over and enjoy making VW history on the Emerald Isle. Take a bow NBOC, Eircooled, NCC and everyone and book your ticket NOW before these exclusive tix go public.

Mourne Coastal Cruise
Afternoon Park and Show in Donard Park
Movie Time
After Show Party at the Anchor Bar
Lazy Sunday with Dave Manning Experience

All for £20

Let's make dub history on the Emerald Isle.
