Just arrived in Castlebar from a hell of a flight (with 3 young kids) from Sydney. Had a look at my beetle parked in my dad's garage and it has 2 flat tyres and needs a brake job!

Being 6ft5in I can't drive with the stock steering wheel, so I need to replace it with a sports one. I have a momo wheel on a car in Sydney, just wondering if anyone has anything that would fit a 68 beetle thats about 420mm in diameter, or can recommend where I can get a new one with a hub in Ireland. Maybe I'm better off getting one from the UK perhaps?

Great end of summer weather here, its been chucking it down since we landed ;)

Cheers

I've a Mountney wheel with boss here in Galway that might do? Had it fitted to a '77 beetle but no use for it at the moment, swap it for your original?

i think the size of the splines changed in the early '70s so the 77 mountney boss mightn't fit the 68 and vice versa :(
