After having a loan of my brother in law's bay for the weekend I have decided that the Ghia is just not practical.Its great fun to drive but I cant fit the child seats in the back so I think I am going to have to find myself a bay.

So I if anyone is interested in a cheap car with a small amount of finishing I will sell it as it is for €4750,If not I will finish it off and paint it over the next couple of months and put it up for €6500ish.

Bay's all the way for a practical vintage VDub. No more shitty little tents, loads of room for kids (read: playground), portable kitchen (read: coffee house)... and at stock height, the most comfortable drive I've ever had.... not that I think for a moment yours isn't going to be beaten with the lowering stick... LOL

Yeah in two minds their,they just dont look right to me as standard but the one I was driving at the weekend was standard and it was soo comfortable and a real novilty for me to hit speed bumps at speed LOL

I know they look cool lowered but I'd never do it as my Bay is for driving first and foremost..... a tough decision.

Are the T1 and T2 spindles different?

I'd imagine so, K&L vs Balljoint, drums vs disks

oh, hang on, T1 as in beetle and T2 as in bus or T1 as in split van and T2 as in bay?

either way, they'd all be different from each other and none would be interchangeable.

some of the work done includes :

All rust cut out of body and welding done primed and ready for paint(just needs the wax wetsanded out)
front beam narrowed by 4" and adjusters welded in.
Trackrods cut down and retapped
new trackrod ends and long travel balljoints fitted
new dropped spindles fitted
2 new brake calipers fitted to front
new 4into1 exhaust manifold and bugpack mondo muffler
Cream leather Jag xjs interior(also comes with full OG interior in good condition)
new carb.


work needed to finish:

2 patches to the front of the floorpan and 2 patches over the rear torsion tubes under the back seat and a bit of patching on each inner wheel arch,
Nothing a couple of days of welding wouldnt take care of.

Can be sold at standard hight without the shortened beam for €4200


Its running well and I have had it out to a few shows this summer without any hassle

i guess its adjusted down to the last in the picture.

Engine is a 1600 and its adjusted up as far as it will go in that picture although the back has been highered since then.
I can return it to standard hight for If your not into panscraping..LOL

I am giving this one last shot before I finish it off and sell it for €6500

price reduced to €3900 on a standard front beam or €4300 as it is.

BTW the primer is 2k so i am told by the paint shop that it is waterproof as it is.

I just got my new bay home and am mad to get started on it so I am going to make one last attempt at selling the Ghia before I finish it myself.

3200 ! fuck it riggsi i woulda taken your arm off a couple of months ago before i got stuck into my bug. its mainly a pre ghia project welding class for myself. the goal has and will always be a ghia. best of luck with the sale but im actually sickened.
