Are they seriously turning a car upside-down to demonstrate the importance of wearing a seatbelt? What happens when you turn a car upside-down and you're not wearing a seatbelt? I have no idea.

RSA really are a shower of gobshites.

Yeah - you'd think they'd use a proper computer simulator or something......

I remember years ago at shows seeing a car seat mounted on a track, and raised on a short incline. Not particularly fast, but it would give some jolt when you hit the bottom. That was simple and effective IMHO.

This is it -

I've driven both the early ( 383ci) and the late (440ci) versions and stock they were quite nice. With a little engine work these would run low 12 second 1/4 miles and cruise all day long at over a ton.

I was in that car two weeks ago in Castlebar, It turns around very slow but it shows you the effect of a seatbelt and they explain what happens if your car rolls over. They explained that your belt has to be on you tight because it moves a few inches before the pre-tensioner works and how manybones you break if its on wrong. They told you how to get out of the car if it ends upside down as your body weight will stop the seatbelt buckel opening and you have to push yourself up with your legs to take the pressure off.

Who had the lowlight ghia there? Looks the business, any more info on it?

Ya that lowlight is nice, the sills are a little crusty but in general its a pretty solid car. The interior was stripped out apart from the front seats and the pans and channels looked good.
It's on a ZV plate and looks like a recent import, owner wasn't around so didn't get any more details but have a few pics which i'll post later.
It's a work in progress and the owner seems to know what he's at so i'd doubt its for sale.

BTW great day out yesterday, thanks for the pic Mickey, will upload some also when i get a chance
