[For Sale: Car] Bargains on DoneDeal

Met him at Moynalty a few weeks ago. Thats a lovely van. Its an ex-swiss army that originally a panel but the windows were put in at some stage. Very basic inside but if I had the money its good value for a split!

He asked for offers in the region of 20k as that what it stood him.
Nice van alright. Saw it in monard just after he put it on the road. Ok price too

you can't just "get one". Most of them are home-built by enthusiasts. Scour vwkd.co.uk and volkszone.com but be prepared to do the import dance. TBH, I'd be going for a good, proven aircooled beetle. MUCH less hassle at the end of the day. And that's coming from a fella that has a half-completed Subaru beetle languishing in the back of the shed.

How can i get one Justin? I know thats where i will want to go with one eventually, may as well do it now.......

They don't come up for sale often, and the ones that do are often unfinished - and I'd say there is probably a good reason why.

The hassle as far as I can see about buying someone else's Subaru conversion is reverse engineering the conversion any time you come across a problem. In a well-engineered conversion EVERYTHING needs to be modified: engine mounting, gearbox, drive shafts, brakes, steering, ALL the electrics, plumbing has to be built from scratch etc. you'd need a dossier of the origin of all the parts in case they need replacements.

Unless you build it yourself it'll be a lot of hassle. Actually, to build it yourself will also be a lot of hassle.

I see your point, Im just shopping around, bouncing ideas, mourning my old bug...........need to burn about in a bug again and want to get a beauty.... thanks dude,i appreciate it
