Thirdly, stickers. Someone said they can get stickers done, please put your hand up, they need to be approx 100mm wide and depth in pro. They need to be on gloss white vinyl. There are others needed but i will go through them with you.

Things are bubbling away in the background here, sorry i havnt updated you for a bit, but when i get the artworks finished and have other stuff finalised ill let you know.:D

Should be a mid 14 sec. Car

Doubt it britt, i rekon high 15's low 16's, really basic motor, 69x92 (1835) c/w crank, stock rods, 1300 heads with no port work except cut back exhaust valve guid and bowl blend. hpmx 40's (which run perfectly out of the box just for the haters!!) engle 120 and a scabby old exhaust.

I was saying to dave, this is the most fun car ive worked on in YEARS!!!! cheap and cheerful equals muchos FUN!!

Nice productive bank holiday.
Got the engine in and the exhaust fitted again.
Oil is plumped in too. Have a breather box in behind the turbo, this is connected to the case at the oil filler and the two rocker covers.
Turned the engine to build up a bit of oil pressure before I put the plugs back in as she's been lying up for a while.

Any tips for how to get the best start off the line for us drag n00bs?

I will be going through this at the drivers briefing, but the gist of it is, youve got to be driving like some sort of c unit to bust something gearbox wise.

I get my car into pre stage 2 top lights, then just ease it up to full stage (all four staging lights lit) clutch and handbrake, then i get the revs up a touch, no more than 3krpm, i would advise no more than 2k for you guys, then get the bite point on the clutch ever so slightly and pre load the trans on the handbrake, when the lights drop, its a combo of full beans and handbrake release, its not too difficult to master but your handbrake must be good, you dont want snapped cables etc.

The last thing any of you guys want to be doing is sitting at the lights at 4k+ rpm and then just dropping the clutch, recipe for something to break, maybe not with smaller hp engines, but if its your first time, walk it off the line and get used to it, i still walk mine out of the box and 2 seasons on a stock gearbox and 2 events with 185bhp, the method might not net quick times, but it sure has saved me a fortune in time fixing and a built gearbox i cannot afford ;-)

Ok thanks. I purposely haven't added my name yet because I am unsure if I'll be around but if there is only 5 places left and I can't just arrive last minute then you may as well ADD my name to the list now and I'll forward payment.
