I've been in contact with the organiser of the Tramore Oceanic surf and sea festival and she has told me this event will be going ahead again this year on Sunday 26th September.
It commences at 11am and runs until 4pm. This was an excellent event last year as we have a whole section of the promenade blocked off just for VW's. It's different from the usual static shows as there is plenty to do in Tramore throughout the day and it gives the public who usually wouldn't go to vintage shows the opportunity to see our cars/vans.
Here's some pics from last years thread

I loved this event last year and can highly recommend it.

I would like it if the organisers actually organised something or instead gave us permission to organise the display!!! - Then we could do something really cool and make an effort / vw show out of it!!!!!

Last year we arrived and there was no-one on the seafront and we just pulled up not knowing where to park or anything! I just decided I'd start the ball rolling and got the early arrivals to park at an angle (Williams Split, WNI Phil, my oval and Rocky) in an effort to display the cars, then I ended up directing most of the VWs in to position on both side of the road!!!

I was a good day but I felt they took us for granted a little bit, we added alot to the event, made the effort to travel etc but where left to our own devices!

Tsar!

Oh and speed bumps where a bitch, worst approach road of any show in Ireland, beware!!!

Otherwise something different and a good day out if the weathers nice!

The organiser said she would pop up a post as soon as she can remember the password but I'm familiar to the area and if you don't take the left at the first roundabout and go straight through you'll come in the opposite side of the promenade and have no speed bumps.

Hi Everyone,

Delighted to see so many people are interest in coming back to and coming for the first time to the festival this year.

I note someone did mention a lack or organisation when you guys arrived. I was on the promenade for the day at the festival and did ask around for who might be the person to talk to and thank for coming along but no-one seemed to know.
I probably should have asked someone to PM me as the contact person on the day with thier number prior to the weekend, but I didnt.

We would be delighted to host you guys again this year and I hope we can do a much better job of it. I have to admit I havent ever organised a car type show before so maybe there is criteria.... can someone post up the 'must haves' and the 'could we possibly arrange' lists.... be that a special rate with a camp site or surf lessons, just let us know!!

With regard to getting to the Promenade area by avoiding all speed bumps that is possible.... once you Drive into Tramore continute forward once you reach the main roundabout with the boat as decoration...continue forward past the Majestic Hotel and once you reach the Sands Hotel at the very miniture roundabout take a left onto Strand Road continue forward onto the Promenade and you will then come to a closed road area straight in front of you, which is actually your cordoned off area - and no speed bumps along that route!!

I guess last years guys was a learning curve and we would be happy to facilitate what needs you have this year - just let me know.

Many thanks,
Ann.
