I'll swap you an arc welder if you replace the heater channel on my beetle!

Deal of the century! Do it!

Wouldn't be as simple as just replacing a heater channel Ross.
More panels are needed when doing the heater channels. Unless your lucky.

Trev just got the clarke mig151en turbo delivered last week. have tried it on scrap .8mm and used it to make a sheet metal folder over the weekend from 60mm and very impressed with it - the price was good too. dunno about delivery here from the uk but i have an address in the black north if needed.

I have a welder coming to me after the weekend from a friend on T2i, if that turns out to be duff then I have a second offer of one pretty close to me. However, both are 130amp. If I can turn up something a bit bigger/better I'm still in the market. Thanks for the offers guys but I'm not going to buy one from the UK, it's just a lot of hassle with delivery/collection etc. I might yet investigate that company George bought from...

Gasweld in Dublin have good machines .Murex, Esab etc

Pricey but you can still get spares for Murex machines that were made 20 years ago.

I got a Tradesmig 40-250A - will weld plate with care or you could use 0.6mm wire but will burn easily up to 10-12mm - handy for when you are building your LexiDerbyBugTank which I am sure you have plans for !
