Anyone got a cheap (€150 or less) MIG welder for sale? I want to learn to weld so I'm not looking for anything fancy. I'd be willing to part exchange an arc welder if anyone would be interested.

£250 odd buys a new clarke 151 on ebay . i`ve found to my cost that second hand welders are a waste of time. unless you find a new unused second hand one

Yeah, I've bought two of these on ebay, great yokes (although I don't have anything to compare them to...).

a guy around the corner from me is still using one of those two you bought
i have another one here too and find it good and much less of a headache than an old yoke with a fucked liner and rusty bits not working like they should
I understand spending the extra to get a better machine but I can't afford any more than €150 at the moment. That's even a push. I've never bothered learning with the arc cause it can't do the type of work I want it to (sheet metal of course).

buying second hand remember you`ll need gloves mask wire maybe tips maybe a new liner and torch. buying new although costs more upfront you`ll know everything is new and you usually get mask and wire etc included

ya want one to go as low as possible.
the 151en goes to 30amp with care u can weld tinfoil
cheap ones in whole sale welding suppliers only go to 50amp

ye I got a new liner and a couple of bits for the torch head.

Looks the same as a Clarke or Draper to me.
In fact most of the lower end price stuff are rebranded generic machines so makes no difference which one you buy
Sparkrite = Parweld = Clarke = Draper = Sip all the same stuff , different colour though.

Got myself a welder today! It's a Clarke 130EN. Based on reviews I was reading, it seemed like a good machine, and should serve me well. I'd say it'll get most of its use on its lowest setting doing panel repairs and that. Wasn't too expensive either. £250 delivered.
