wanted: 4-1 header

my bug has developed a hooooge hole in the 4-1 exhaust header, it now sounds like a tractor while accelerating and pops and farts on the over-run. :-[

So I need another one. I don't suppose anyone has one hanging on a wall and they want rid of it?

It's a small flange version, suitable for my stainless EMPI "phat boy" exhaust.

I was given that one second hand about 7 years ago. It had an awful bugpack noisemaker on it so I bought a nice stainless silencer for it. I have no idea how long it was on the bug it came off but I knew of it for about 3 years so at least 10 years of use...

I would recommend one, it does give a little more go than the stock pea-shooter. I haven't got a dyno at my disposal so couldn't say how much. One thing to watch out for though is the poxy "slip-fit" onto the heat exchangers, they don't seal very well and can blow out the join. There is a much more expensive version available that has proper flanges that you weld onto the heat exchangers and then bolt the header up to. I reckon they'd definitely seal better but they're more work, more expensive and you can't go back to the pea-shooter one if you ever wanted to...

I was lead to believe the EMPI headers weren't worth putting on as they would be rusted off before you had the bolts tightened up.

now i see u said EMPI fitment.

Still have the pea shooters there :cooool: looking.
