Hi Guys
Late as normal getting this sorted out, pretty much the same as last year. 2nd Annunal Barn, Bugs, & Wags will be held on the 29th and 30th of October in my wife's parents indoor arena located in Castledermot, which has landed on a bank holiday weekend. Everyone welcome after 4pm on Saturday, we'll be kicking the horses out at 2pm and need a couple of hours to clear up after them. Show will finish on Sunday around 5 ish, no real set time. The show will start at 10am on Sunday just to give the guys on Saturday night time to recover and may be some might make it througth to Sunday afternoon!!
There will be a Free BBQ on Saturday night and also on Sunday lunch time. Not sure what's on the menu yet, but burgers & sausages will be on offer.
If there are enough people coming on Saturday night, then I might get a band in or would you prefer the same as last year? Any Suggestions. May get some form of music entertainment.
It is Halloween weekend, so if anyone is brave enougth to dress up, please do, in fact I will give a €50 gift voucher to the best costume on the night.
As per last year there is no entry fee. Tea and coffee will be provided all weekend but you will need to bring your own alcohol/drinks.
Going to have a swap-meet again so everyone is welcome to bring their bits and pieces.
As per last year, every vehicle that turns up will automatically enter the competitons. I hope Pat Best will produce another fine trophy for Lazy Days Best bus and the same for Brian to produce a trophy for best Eircooled vehicle. (Has Tom got any engine bits left in your garage to use?). VW Spares will have trophies for Best modified vehicle and runner up, (I'm rooting for you Ross) and Best original vehicle and runner up.
This year we will also have a Peoples choice award, where erveryone gets a vote and who ever gets the most votes wins. With this trophy there will be a €100 VW Spares gift voucher. This will work by everyone registering a vote with Jackie. My wife has a very good memory, so no double voting. The awards will be done at 4 pm on Sunday.
Anyone wants anything ordered for show as in Parts just give me a shout, and the shop is only fifty feet away.
There is a toilet block provided and we might be able to sort out some outdoor camping if that suits. The arena will hold about 50 vehicals, maybe more if I can get the art of packing them in this year, but we do have room for any extra outside. I think we had 55 beetles and vans last year, it would be nice if we can beat it this year.
Now the boring stuff, The event is held on a farm where there is live stock and neighbours, so we do need to keep them on side to keep this event going. As this event is free, we don't need insurance, so attendance is at your own risk but we will need everyone to sign an indemnity form to clear the owners (i.e. Jackie's parents) of any liability in case of personal injury etc.
That's it I think, any ideas or suggestions please send a reply or e-mail me on
