It was VWs attempt at a new model to replace the Beetle but it was a disaster and sold in very low numbers. Most of them rotted so they are not easy to get but ones that do come up for sale tend to be cheap as nobody really wants them.
I had an LS one ( sporty twin headlamp model ) back in the day, rhd local car too .
Couldn't get anyone to buy it off me so she went to the scrap , still have the big side draught Solex off it somewhere .
Unless there's one hidden off in a shed somewhere you won't find a good one.
While your speaking of Audis I know wheres there's an Early 80
It wasn't so much a replacement. It came about after VW took over Audi and NSU they had a few of these lying around the floor
I remember one here in Limerick that was in perfect condition but because the owner couldn't sell it he drove it into the scrapyard and it sat for a few years before finally getting crushed. It was in perfect condition. Murphy's law eh?
"The Volkswagen K70 (pronounced as "ka siebzig" in German) is a sedan automobile developed by NSU and sold by Volkswagen from 1970 till February 1975. The K70 was the first VW to have a front-mounted watercooled engine".
Good old google - the one on Fuchs looks the biz.
Have T3D started this trend, get an oddball rarity from the VW family, slam it and stick a set of Fuchs on it...would love to see a DKW over a set of Porsche rims...
Try johann? he might know where to find one. Think he has parts/panels for them too.
There was a few of them around my home town when i was a kid. Neighbour had a yellow one with twin headlights & black vinyl roof.
I like them. Look a bit like Ro80. Padraig - there was either an orange or yellow one in ballyvourney too.
Yes we had some panels and parts for it. They went to an owner in Holland who was delighted. Aparently just 15 or so registered in Holland today. I think some guy in Fermoy has one
