Hi,

In case anyone is interested, there's a Variant in Kildare that'll soon be crushed by order of the EPA - if anyone'd be interested in parts from it then now's your chance.

The engine's gone and the car is crusty but there's glass, interior and maybe some chrome. If you're brave then maybe the car is worth a go.

There are other cars there too (probably thousands) but I think that the only other aircooled ones that I spotted are a Crewcab, Fiat 500 and a Beetle. There's nothing left to take on the Beetle.

Here's the Crewcab:

The yard owner is a decent guy but the yard is not open to the public - its just too big and health and safety comes into play too. He's as keen an any enthusiast for as many parts to be saved as possible and he's open to reasonable offers on anything there...

Anyway contact details are in this link (scary photo warning :p)

Its in Kildare, around four miles from Kilcullen. I think that there's less than a year to go but that's for it to be cleared out fully so crushing is ongoing. I'd imagine that the older, rarer stuff will be left until nearer the end.

From what I heard you need to ring the guy in advance as he's kinda strange and doesn't like people calling out of the blue.

Definitely - like I said, the yard is not open to the public. To call down without making arrangements would be a wasted journey.

The contact details are in the last link in my first post and its the only way that he should be contacted.

He's not strange but probably tired of sightseers and storytellers.

The callers in this link are strange:

and I'd imagine that he's had more than his fair share of them.
