Hey folks,

hope you've all been well. Just a bit of a heads up on what we've been up to over the last few months! After Vantastival we pretty much spent the summer working at other festivals and spreading the word about our own. It was very encouraging that a lot of people had heard good reports about our inaugural year. That gave us a good incentive to throw ourselves in the deep end for 2011. Suffice to say we are going ahead on the same weekend, the May bank holiday April 29th to May 1st.

We've been talking to numerous acts and after Christmas we'll be taking submissions from unsigned bands too. We should be able to announce some headliners early in the New Year. On a thoroughly unrelated note, 2011 will also bring a new, small and probably boisterous member to the festival crew, with Lou expecting our first nipper in June!(y)

We really appreciate the strong showing last year from the clubs and hope you all had a good time and come back next year. We've had plenty of ideas on how to improve Vantastival and welcome any feedback or suggestions. At the moment we have Christmas tickets on sale at €65 from the website ( http://vantastival.com/vantastival-tickets.html ). These are primarily for Christmas pressie tickets and will be available until Wednesday. Then some time in the New Year the earlybird tickets will go on sale at €70. We'll still do a club rate of €65 but these will need to be block booked and paid for by the end of February. By all means get in touch for any more info.

Anyway, wishing you all a very happy Christmas and I hope your machines survive the weather unscathed!

All the best,

Benny:drinkbeer:

Excellent! I'm delighted to hear you're going ahead with it again! I had a great time at the last one, so I'll certainly be there again. Oh yeah, and this time, don't put the DJ tent beside the camping area! ;)

Also, whats the situation for those of us who made contributions and left our email addresses for a discount this year?

We had a lot of kids there last year of all ages and they seemed to have a great time. We're expanding the range of kids' activities this year although an 18-month old will be too young for most of the interactive stuff. However, there is a lot of space on site and it's very family oriented. After some teething problems last year with noise levels our family area will be much better defined this time round.

As for those who donated last year, we have a list of email addresses although we know that not everyone gave theirs. We'll be sending out an email to those addresses we have soon.

Hope everyone had a great Christmas and happy New Year to all!

Not going to lie, I was a skeptic last year. Just couldn't see how it'd work.
But many here said it was a good weekend, I won't book a ticket as its too early.
But I'll do my best to get there at some stage over the weekend.

Best of Luck.

Mick you will love it.
never been to a festival with such a relaxed atmosphere
Bearing in mind last year i had to have electricity to sterilize the childs bottles and due to technical difficulties the puppet show was delayed to allow this to happen.

Has to have been the most VW campers in one field in Ireland (maybe ever)

Haha ... nice one Deckie.... the lads are actually friends of ours, and played our after party last year in the paddy mirage tent. The problem now is that although the lads are up for doin a gig for us, they have signed to a management deal and don't have much of a say in the booking process, so we're now talking to the suits.. that said.. we're confident we can arrange something.....CHALK IT DOWN!!

Hey Navan lads,

one of the pics they took of us in Dalgan Park last year finally made it to the paper. Sunday Business Post today, pg 22, the purple bus!
