I want to say a massive thank you to everyone that came out last Saturday for The Breakfast Roll, the first aircooled VW meeting of the year. It had to have been the largest ever. I ordered 50 fridge magnets; one for each car, thinking, because it’s February, I’d have quite a few left over but they disappeared so quickly, and in reality I could have ordered more as the VWs kept arriving throughout the day. That will give you an indication of the numbers there in Loughmore. I know that people made the journey from Galway, Mayo, Dublin, Kildare, Cork, Kerry, Waterford, , Meath, Wexford, Carlow, Kilkenny, Limerick and many more.
It was incredible to see everyone laughing, talking and checking out the array of classic aircooled VeeDubs in the village. Online is great but you can’t beat face to face. It’s also a brilliant way of networking, getting help with your restoration project and sourcing parts.
Thanks to Graham Cullen and CM Signs for providing the Breakfast Roll stickers. Graham and his team always take time to design and print the Breakfast Roll stickers when they are busy with other orders. Thanks again Graham and all of your team at CM Signs
Thanks as always to Mary Fogarty and her colleagues at The Cottage Loughmore for looking after us all so well and feeding us the most delicious Tipperary breakfasts. The kitchen staff and floor staff didn’t get to sit down all day but despite how tired they must have been they smiled and made each and every one of us feel so welcome.
Thanks to John Knightly for bringing along some stickers from Knightly’s Rusty Wonderland which Iwas able to give out to people on the day too.
Well done to Peter Murphy for organising a convoy from Galway which grew in size when the Kerry contingent joined at Limerick.
Here are a few of my photos from the day, a day that would not have happened without the help and support of everyone in our classic aircooled Volkswagen community.
If you have a Volkswagen that isn’t on the Beetle.ie Census, why not add it and tell us a little something about it.
