A little disappointed with the show to be honest. The show was held in one hall and not as many cars as I thought for the admission price! I was asked if the bus was pre '80's to avail of the classic car parking, which is fair enough, but found a surprising amount of new cars inside!? (What's the theme?) For example the porsche club had four 911's on display, the earliest of which was a late '80's model!??? I know they have some fantastic early model examples... Alot of advertising inside the hall, insurance companies, vendors and new car sale companies for which I had to pay to see... more commercial than club/ private display orientated. Maybe next year it will expand it's classic car display section! Just my opinion! :-(

Nice pictures by the way Michael... :)

Okay, the gloves are off... the majority of the classic's on display were good enough to lick, but the rest was........... shite.

Have to agree with you Darren, their was a lot of ground wasted inside but it could certainly has the makings of a great show with an indoor venue off most motorways.

Not too sure about the draining oil and petrol bit. Rosemary Smith's rally imp had a nice square of carpet under the engine...

out of interest, was it a pre '80 carpark that you paid into (or was it free in?) or was it a display area for punters who turned up in a classic that was being sold as part of the show? If it was on the bill as part of the show, was there a reduced/free entry charge if you turned up in a classic? Were modified classics accepted or poo-poo'd??

Yea, free parking if in your classic. Parking just in front of the main hall, so can only guess being sold as part of the show. No reduced rate for entry. I'd say there were more classics outside towards the end than inside. Which wasn't a lot. There were 2 modified cars at retro classics stand which looked fantastic and a collection of historic racers, but guess it was frowned upon, hence unsure of the theme!?
Can appreciate it would be huge work to organise and don't want to come across all wrong, but if you grouped all the classic into one corner they would be lost! :-(

Very mixed opinions on this show. I didn't make it but have talked to a number of people and I looked through a load of photos from other websites and have to say the majority of the cars looked vintage, of good quality and many of which I had never seen before. The overall type of punter through the doors by all accounts were true Petrol Heads and even though Sunday was more of a family day it was attended by people who actually respected the cars on show...no kids running around unsupervised etc.

The pre '80's classic free parking idea is the norm in the UK but I still think the driver of the car should get a subsidised entry fee if they were promoting the car park as part of the show!

Seems to have all the makings of a great event and hopefully the next one will have some of these creases ironed out!

I'm sure there's mixed opinion on the show, both good and bad. The reason I'm so disappointed with the show is that it has the potential to be a great show. An indoor display area (no weather restrictions) with multiple halls, a large classic car audience etc... The club stands were great, but felt the overall show slightly domineered by the commercial stands. I also hope the creases are ironed out as it could be our version of the NEC show in birmingham for example...
