Actually just looked on the website and all I can say is us Veedub heads might not quite fit in!

Cant imagine a mucky bug droping the odd bit of oil would go down well. But maybe I'm wrong?

I think that you're right actually. I think that its a shame to ignore a car that was so central to Irish motoring history. It was the car of choice of many Irish motorists as well as having the first VW assembly plant outside of Germany.

My now deceased next door neighbour used to herd sheep with his :ROFLMAO:

I'll be in work for a few hours so will make it my business to pop around tomorrow.

The great Jim Boland was on the Late Late Show this evening, he has one of the largest collections of vintage
cars in Europe. A few years back he bought all the engine machines off Rolls Royce when they wanted rid, now
making a fortune repairing engine parts to Rolls Royce customers. Will post some pictures.

Royal Irish Automobile Club Show - Royal me arse !

Where are the Royalty ?

Just a bunch of snobby wannabies....like the Jaguar tent at Terenure, wankers the lot of them.

Met Jim Boland at the Trim car show a few years back, he had some 1929 Bentley something or other, I was judging and was basically ordered to give him a prize.................did I bollox...I gave all the prizes to guys that worked on their own cars and none to the "look what I just bought" crowd.

Always thought the prize should go to the best car.. How it gets to the show winning condition is hardly the point. Thats a bit like a photo compettion being judged on the camera that took the photo.

Just back from the show and it's pissing rain, it's a good first show but a serious lack of Volkswagens in there.

Darren's bus was looking great outside, but really it's home was inside.

Photos later - well worth a gander if your local.

I went to the show yesterday really enjoyed it, thought it was well organised ...

As Wayne mentioned Jim Boland works on all his cars, a true car enthusiast.

I think the VWs were as well represented as alot of other makes.
