Currently down with me here in the Netherlands on UK plates: Very nice and tidy, restored Right Hand Drive (!) Beetle 1302LS Karmann Convertible. To be considered the nicest incarnation of the Beetle, with the flat windscreen but improved suspension front and rear. The car has been very slightly modded with Recaro front seats and Porsche Fuchs alloys with brand new tyres. Modern sound system with hidden radio/cassette in glove compartment, cd-changer under rear seat, remote control unit, alarm system. Excellent cream hood and cover. The "LS' features front disc brakes, blower/front windscreen demister, and a powerfull twin port 1600cc engine. Re the Beetle, can't believe the car hasn't sold yet either.
I found this car here through the trade circuit in Holland, but the owner had lost his Export certificate, and we had to wait on the correct Export documents from the DVLA which took about 3 months!!!!
2 guys that were originally interested, sort of lost interest waiting for it, but as of last night I collected the car from where it was stored and it's now down at my place. So i finally got a chance to clean it up and shoot a few good shots. She's genuinely in lovely condition, a few small cosmetic issues that could be improved (passenger side foot rest is missing, one of the side vent windows, clear lacquer has peeled a bit around the rhd side bumper mount) but that's all reflected in the price. No rust or rot, the underside of the car is rock and rock solid, completely undersealed throughout and the paintwork has a wonderfully lustre deep shine. Roof is straight and no rips or marks and completely waterproof.
