decided i`m best off getting out of this oval, it`s been pretty much untouched for the last 18 months while i try save up non existent money to complete the resto.
july 57 matching body engine box and pan. RHD Aus built oval, imported into uk 2 years ago. complete car but has been stripped down. body needs work and i have most of the fresh metal needed. 3 original wings, drivers front is late 59 i think also the bonnet is late 59 but still a 4 tab. 2 rust free doors, drivers side needs hinge repair. 2 decklids, one new KSR , one original in need of repair. missing headlights and semaphores. original seats and door cards present. original suspension and brakes, beam narrowed 40 mm. engine stripped for inspection, crank and case are perfect and need no machining. all tinware, carb, genny etc present and correct.

and these http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=1259189 and that`s all the new metal needed for a solid body. the original metal sections i tracked down are all very good and very hard to find ! the car could have been patched up easily and put on the road but i wanted the metal work factory fresh. the rear wings are very good and original oval ribbed wings. left front wing is original but rough enough, it`s solid just wavy under some fillers. right front wing is very good but 59 i think. engine is 100% complete and was running well. heads have minor cracks between the valves as common with 30hp heads. rods need new small end bushings and probably big end bearings too. otherwise engine is good to go back together. interior is all there except the headliner and carpets. seats and door cards are in good original condition, just a few loose stitches, no rips. only things i can think of missing are the headlights, semaphores and bumpers.

You can edit it yourself, then everybody knows what the craic is. Deleting threads from under people isn't a good idea IMHO.

sorry for the messing, i honestly thought it was best to get rid of it. was only when looking at the pics i took today that made me change my mind. fuck it 3k is easy come by compared to getting another one of these.
