I don't know a huge amount about this Porsche and I would be grateful if any of the people who looked at it at the swap meet would like to add to this description. I do know that it is an original "UK" Porsche and it is driving. The body is a mixed bag - some good chrome and a few good panels - along with some fairly bad dints and rust. Likewise the interior is original but tatty. One or two people looked underneath and weren't overly impressed but I think the general consensus is that it is a very restorable vehicle.

Martin the owner is a business colleague of mine and he has little interest in pushing this sale so he asked me to throw it on here. He will sell and he will take a realistic price - he just doesn't have the time to actively sell it. So it is in the warehouse here in Naas if anyone wants a look.

€20k and very open to offers. PM me if you want pics of specific areas - I don't know the problem areas in a 356 so I'm not sure what to take photos of. I'll thrown any new photos up in this thread.

On the face of it I reckon €20k might be a bit on the high side too, any pics of the floor, sills or doors? From the rust you can see it looks like its going in a lot of the usual places so to repair them properly would definitely mean spending a fair few euro. What engine is in it, what kind of condition is it and the gearbox?

Gullwing are a shower of cowboys, they always have expensive rust for sale! Their car is a matching numbers cabrio which is always desirable but even that heap of oxide isn't worth $32k.

Depending on engine condition I genuinely think this would be best kept as a rat, make sure it's structurally sound and forget about spending €50k+ on restoring bodywork and paint and just drive it, go for it Darragh, rat look would be the business ;)

Who can resist a 356?

Its tempting at the right price but I'd agree with Padraig - enjoy it as a rat (rare for me to say :ROFLMAO: )

a sweeet looking car definatly a cool rat ride .
i dont pretend to know alot about porsches but i have been advised that my rusty 65/66 RHD 911 is worth in the region of £23k by a few people in the porsche resto game .
now i would always have thought a 356 would have been worth more than the 911 even for a ratty resto project ? or is it simpley that my 911 is one of such a few early RHD cars that it bumps the value ? anyway good luck with the sale
now must pop out and do the loto sure you never know .

Your 911 is a rare rhd swb - a hell of alot less of those produced than a 356B, even in rhd.
Your car and the 356 would probably cost in and about the same to restore but yours would fetch about £30-40k more in the market I reckon if they were both offered at the same time.

T5 1600CC, Engine and gearbox are in running order and as far as Martin knows they have no issues. It smokes on start-up but he thinks that is the fuel cock being left open when it is in storage (means nothing to me). More photos to follow. 20k is guide price :)

Cheers for the extra photos Ruairi, any chance of the vin and engine number? The vin would be under the bonnet, just ahead of the fuel tank, the engine number would be roughly the same place on the case as a VW engine.
