I'm heading over to Spa this year, for my now annual Euro road trip, hopefully making a week of it with a bit of touring/sightseeing this time.

Out of interest, what route do you take? Ferry to France? How long is the drive then?... (I might have a windfall )

Hoping to take ferry from Rosslare to France, it's a lot less driving compared to Dublin Holyhead, drive to Dover an cross to Calais, I've done that twice.

I just looked at the map, 442miles / 707.4km, 7 hours 9mins, Cherbourg to Spa. So thats 885 miles round trip to Rosslare. It's 68miles /108km to Rosslare from Wicklow making it 1020 round trip.

In 2010 we went Holyhead/Dover/Calais and on the maps it 1250miles from Wicklow to Spa return, and that's pretty much what the van clocked up.

My mate is coming with us in either a van or a jeep and there a spare seat in his yoke at the mo!

442 miles from france to spa? you sure, i went annually from 97 to 05, i used to drive it in a day easily in my samba.

Cherbourg ,Ben not Calais,
Calais is where you would have landed and it's only 3.5 hours from Spa.
