Have you adjusted the dampers?

Are you down two on the rear? Did you remove the bump-stops and notch the plates?

i don't get what that means, but should be they much softer after twidling the dampners? its like your in an ejector seat going over a speed bump!

oh i know the adjuster alright.....just that i have it all the way down and it is still rock solid. I've done it like it says on the website, adjust by 4 clicks and back by one until you are happy with ride quality, just doesn't seem to amke much of a difference. Im thinking if they should be alot softer, maybe theres something wrong.

@Justin, i didn't see that above first time. 2 splines at the back but no notches, seemed like there was enough travel to do without.

Seen this dude on instagram.....his setup sounds like it would drive like a dream, and has a lovely stance...not cheap tho!

home made 40mm per side narrowed link pin beam with roller bearings.slamwerks end plates and Prowagen adjusters.Brazilian bay dropped spindles and 175/55/15 tyres,one tooth drop on the front adjusters.rear is one spline drop with horseshoe plates 185/65/15 tyres and 70mm notch's front and rear.drives really smooth.get the odd rub on the front tubs if I push it hard or if there's two up front.

Mine was very rough, it would knock and rebound whenever it bottomed out, so I removed the rubber stops and notched the plates.

Thanks for that but I couldn't live with a van like that. I like having my beetle low but I use the van over every terrain so I only want to bring it down a couple of inches. Take a look at the pic below especially the bottom of the van against the gate. The rear has possibly sagged over the years and now it's nose high.

Both our buses are nose high. Shit I thought that was normal :D. Low does look über cool though
