Thanks to all who made this event the great success it was - it would be a very empty car park if people didn't show up

It was so cool to see so many VWs
(including Trev's watercooled diesel spewing Passat estate complete with roofbox but thankfully he had the decency to leave it in the car park
) making the journey and no matter when I looked around I saw another VW drive in and park up. People were selling parts too which added a little extra to the event. The weather helped massively and was a welcome change to standing around in the rain and wind.
Most of the goodies in the bags were very kindly sponsored and as such I would ask that you would consider, when making your next VW related purchase, these companies who do not have to give to this little event but thankfully they do. Many of the companies are small start-up companies so to donate any item is a big thing to do and I very much appreicate it.......mention the event and you may just get a discount!

I would also like to say huge thanks to CM Signs (Beag & Gritz) for making the show stickers, and this year there were specific stickers for each model; Beetle, Bay, Splittie & T25.
Congrats to Pete who won the Airmighty Megascene prize which was a limited edition copy of issue 10 of the magazine. Niels was delighted to give a number of magazines as well as stickers for the event but he asked that the limited edition magazine goes to the 'coolest VW' on show and I think everyone agreed that this was definitely his Single Cab Splittie.
Well done to PJ for winning the Paddy O'Callaghan Award, sponsored by Wayne McCarthy. He also won 2 t-shirts in the raffle too!
Well done also to Beag for winning the second Paddy O' award for being the only person to actually break a kart in a dramatic and theatrical style. Sadly he hadn't quite made it to the start line when he mangled the kart as this was just his warm up lap so maybe next year we'll have an annual award in honour of Beag called the 'get off the startline yet?' award
Well done to Teresa Dollery for picking
HER OWN raffle ticket out of the bag
We had a prize from Aircooled Accessories to give away and you'll never guess who won that accessory???????? Yep, Brendan O'Brien who owns the most accessorised Beetle in Ireland won the accessory headlight grilles! As you would expect he already has headlight grilles but on the upside, he is a customer of Paul at Aircooled Accessories so will be exchanging them and adding to his 100+ accessories in no time :cooool:
Congrats to
Liam Bobby for winning the overall karting trophy :nr1:
Kilcornan Karting also need a big thumbs up too as they were very cool in letting us bring our cars out onto the track as soon as they had cleared the debris from Beag's crash of course

I have to say though, it only cost €20 per person for the afternoons entertainment and as far as I am concerned it was well worth it. We laughed with and at the people on the track as well as those standing watching the racing. Tiernan Raftery was a very happy boy going home having kicked ass in the junior karting :nr1:
I hope you were all smiling and had your best
rigouts on as Andrew Pollock was on-site snapping cars for Retro Classic Magazine.
So with the momentum behind us here's to an excellent show, event, monthly meet & camping season in 2013 :drinking:
