Front brake caliper

Hi,lookin for a passenger side(lhd van) front brake caliper for my '73 bus.mines seized up so a replacement is needed.anyone around Waterford with one or willing to post it?

Hi Trev.I was thinking of a refurb kit if I couldnt get a caliper handy enough.Ive heard calipers are a bit hard to source.

I've rebuilt a pair of bus caliper before, it's not difficult. Just a dirty job...

I have it off the bus a soaking in penetrating fluid overnight.Ill have a go at it tomorrow,Ive just ordered a refurb kit from heritage.

Also a big hammer is an essential!

I found popping out the pistons with compressed air useful. If you don't have a compressor available then you can do it like deckie says, a G glamp and brake pedal pressure. One piston at a time. It's faster/less messy with the compressor and caliper off the van...

You should try sourcing parts from Jon at VWSpares, he's cheaper than Heritage and great for advice too.
