Hi Dave, because it was such an ideal location for you, have you considered talking to the bank involved. same predicament happened to a neighbour of mine. they never thought of buying and were happy renting, until landlord drunk himself stupid for months and bank took back, i suggested talking to the bank, and they made the bank an offer and it was accepted as it was easier than go through tthe whole process of selling on open market. id say you could probably find too that mortgage rates are rock bottom and a mortgage is probably cheaper than the rent.
were talking at the moment , with the banks agents , but i think they want vacant possesion to sell.
Sorry to hear of this Dave. You are a great asset to the VW community and if I were there I'd be down to help you move if it comes to that. I'd suggest that a massive moving effort by all of the VW clubs that benefit from your services be initiated if you do have to move. Heck many hands can make fast work. Best wishes.

thanks britt , ross and others , im meeting the banks agent next week to discuse things, im hoping they hounor my existing 3 month notice that i have on my tenancy agreement .
my landlord appears to be a dell boy type , he weaves a tangled web of truths and untruths , the banks agent is going to have a job sorting it all out , so it may take some time.
