Hi everyone,

I'm on the look out for a engine carrier bar for a 1971 early bay.

I believe it's called a moustache bar and only fits early bays not later.

Hope someone can help!

Thanks anyway. Yes I believe that’s a taker one I need one for 68-71. If anyone knows if one please give me a shout. Engine is built awaiting to be put in.

i have an early bay with the correct moustache bar: you're welcome to come up and take measurements if that is any help. Located in Dundalk...

Why do bays have an engine bar and beetles don't

The gearbox in an early bay is not supported like a beetle ie. underneath the clutch.
The weight of the Engine and the gearbox rests on the moustache bar.
