I have a starter motor for an early bay for sale cost €85 new I'll sell for €70.
I only used it for lest than 300 miles then changed gearbox to a later one and it won't fix.

Its got a shorter shaft than the late bay one, I think its 50mm and the late bay one is 60mm

Yeah but I have a 75 late bay that uses the shorter starter.

as far as I know, only the 2litre bay windows have the longer pinion. That starter should fit all others and 12v beetles too like Riggsi said
